How far have women come in 47 years?
How far have women come in 47 years? Recently i came across a Chatelaine Magazine dated 1972..There is an article in there states " How Women Put Down Women?" Its all about how women perceived other women then as opposed to now...I waitressed for many years and worked in the food industry as well as many other jobs seen women make strides in the work force and in every day life..I will be writing a few blogs over the course of a couple days just quoting some passages from article..Bear with me please.. A woman reporter bristles when somebody asks her if she writes for the womens pages of a magazine, and a waitress scurries over to a table in a restaurant when a man comes in and sits down and totally ignores a woman who has already been seated for a couple minutes..A lady demurely asks the husband of a couple she stops to chat with if he would like to come to dinner because she is having a gathering at her home at her husband requests but totally ignores the wife not even asking the wife if she may be free to attend..What does all mean? The feminists may say it means women think women aren't very important . least not as important as the man , and it also means as long as women see it way it will continue to be way.Freud thought the origin of womens feelings of inferiority stemmed from their sense their genetalia were deficient when compared with men.Not surprising the feminists thought Freud to be a chauvinist pig ..lol It had been established women felt inferior because of the mind set their sole purpose in life was to be a home maker , bearer and their functions as such.Whatever the origins of these functions as perceived by the public were perpetuated by women. Its hard to believe when i was a young i was dressed in clothes i was told to keep clean and when my brothers were dressed in jeans and told to go outside to if they came back in even with torn and muddy clothes was perfectly fine and rightly tolerated..Blue for a baby boy and pink for a baby girl ..Girls were taught from the time they reached puberty and prepared for life , as a subordinate...married , , home..husband to care for and look after every whim...! Now a personal note here this is not my article it is taken from a magazine from 1972 so times they do change! |

"Necessity" demands "Change". If our economy didn't tank due to WWII, most all women would still be Home Makers , seeing to the proper nurturing of her children, and seeing to the welfare and health of her husband. That -Family unit model- worked, and worked very well. Each had a specific role. If either dropped the ball, then failure of the "Family unit" happens. Women today say, "He's afraid of strong women". ...ha.. that's a load of crap. Today, there are still men [although comparatively few] who can afford to be the head of the household, and seek a woman who will be a Home Maker and cater to the children and himself. The other men who have no interests in career-minded women, are not "Afraid", he's just not "Interested" in a woman who doesn't have time for him. Also............. There's nothing wrong with pink for girls and blue for boys. Why does there have to be a blending? Boys pink/blue..girls blue/pink? Men and women are not the same. Not equal. Two distinct separate powers. Why muddy that up? Why do women think they have to be like men to be considered socially equal? Genders blends too much, Society loses the identifying properties, and magnificent strength of individuality of the two genders ....Why mess this up?! In "47 years"...as a society, I perceive we've gotten worse, not better.
